Our hotel has a rich history that spans many generations of Provencal families. This country residence in Haute-Provence, built in 1730 and restored in 1920 by a bourgeois family returning from Mexico, was initially constructed on the site of an old tollgate. Carefully renovated to preserve its antique charm while infusing it with new energy, our establishment strikes a beautiful balance between the past and the present—a unique place where history comes alive, where exoticism meets tradition.
Staying at Villa Gaia Hotel & Garden means following in the footsteps of adventurers from the late 19th century who made stops in the lands of Haute Provence. The house’s library pays homage to them.
We are eager to share with you the history and open the doors of this family home transformed into a charming hotel in 1993.
